Professor Xu Weixin Attends Harvard China Review’s Thirteenth Annual Conference and Delivers Speech

China Review‘s Thirteenth Annual Conference was held in Harvard University in Boston, USA. Senior Deputy Dean of School of Arts , RUC, Xu Weixin was invited to attend and deliver speech at the conference.
 
 
Harvard China Review, held once a year, aim to prompt the communication in science, economics and culture fields between China and international society, is one of the biggest China-related conferences in North America. This year, Harvard China Review with the theme “PRC after Sixty: Growth and Prospects”, invited influential people in different fields, including Education, Media, Economics, Healthcare and so on. It is the first time to add the Art Panel of the forum---Road for China ’s Contemporary Art Market in the conference.
 
In Art Panel on April 17th, Professor Xu Weixin delivered a speech, with the name of “the Present State of Contemporary Art Market and My Art Practice”. He presented the origin and the present state of China Contemporary Art and came up with the concept that the artists should have their unique thoughts and breakthrough of expression methods about social problems. At the conference, Professor Xu introduced his artistic practice in recent years, including his creation of miners and peasant workers themes and installation works Historical Chinese Figures.
 
On April 19th, Professor Xu Weixin visited University of Washington in Seattle , USA and delivered a speech, named “Art, Society and History—Practice and Consideration” and had communication with teachers and students in School of Arts in Washington University.
