The Calligraphy exhibition opening ceremony of famous calligrapher Mr. Takahashi Seigou，vice-president of Japan State Calligraphy Association，was held in Renmin University of China in Nov. 9th，2009. Mr. Takahashi and his wife and daughter, colleagues from Japanese calligraphy circles, dean of School of Arts professor Xu Qingping, Party secretary and deputy dean professor Zhen Xiaohua, deputy secretary associate professor Bie Min, teachers from school office and Youth League Committee and students from School of Arts, more than 100 people took part in the ceremony that was chaired by deputy secretary Bie Min.

 

Dean Xu Qingping and Mr. Takahashi on behalf of each side delivered speech. Dean Xu Qingping extended his warm welcome to honored guests from Japanese calligraphy circles. He said that the calligraphy communication between China and Japanese played an important role to the culture exchange and relationship between the two countries. Mr. Takahashi gave his sincere thanks to Renmin University of China for supporting his exhibition.

 

In the opening ceremony, Mr. Takahashi presented his calligraphy works to School of Arts, RUC. Dean Xu Qingping representing the school issued the collection certificate to him. Then they created their works and presented the works each other.

This exhibition included more than10 pieces of calligraphy works of Mr. Takahashi. It was not only the full display of Mr. Takahashi’s calligraphy but also an important activity of the international calligraphy communication of School of Arts.
